Become a Community Wish Maker

Right now, 93 children in the West Midlands are waiting for their life changing wish — part of a much bigger picture of children across the UK still waiting for theirs. You can help make that happen, from as little as one hour a month.

As a Community Wish Maker, community doesn’t just mean where you live. It could be:

  • An online community
  • A workplace or professional network
  • A school, college or university
  • A faith, cultural or interest group
  • A social media or digital space
  • Or your local neighbourhood

You choose how, where and when you get involved, with a minimum commitment of just one hour a month.

You might choose to:

  • Share the magic of a wish within an online or in person community
  • Support or organise a local or virtual fundraising activity
  • Chat to schools, groups, workplaces or networks you’re already part of
  • Speak at a meeting, event or online session
  • Help spread the word about Make A Wish in a way that feels natural to you
  • Get involved in one off activities when you have the time

No experience needed — if you care about making a difference, we’ll help with the rest

We’ll support you with ideas, guidance and resources, and you’ll be part of a friendly team of Community Wish Makers — you’ll never be on your own.

Every conversation you start helps families understand the powerful impact a wish can have on a critically ill child and their loved ones.

The best part? Every penny you help raise goes directly towards granting wishes. Your time and energy will help children who are waiting right now experience the joy, hope and strength a wish brings.

This role is super flexible, ad hoc, and can be done virtually, in your community, or a mix of both — fitting around your life. It’s also a lovely way to build confidence, meet new people, and use your time and skills for good.

If you’d like to be part of something truly special — and help bring joy to children across Scotland and beyond — we’d love to welcome you as a Community Wish Maker.
